Our Story

Born and raised in the ghettos of Kingston, Jamaica, the founder & CEO of the Norma Jean McLachlan Foundation never wanted to forget where she came from. Thus, many years after her migration to the United States the Norma Jean McLachlan NFP, Inc. was formed. NJM is a grass roots foundation that Norma founded with her family and close friends.

The Norma Jean Mclachlan organization works primarily to serve the youth and elderly in underserved communities both in Jamaica and in the Chicagoland area. We are committed to standing in the gap and meeting the needs of the people we encounter.

In the words of Martin Luther King, “Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
